FEASSSA : St. Noa star Fildauce Namulema thrilled by Basketball MVP accolade

After being crowned East African Basketball champion in the girls category at the FEASSSA games, St.Noa Girls star Fildauce Namulema was also named as the most Valuable player (MVP) at the event held in Tanzania.

Namulema’s classic display was instrumental as St.Noa were crowned Girls Basketball East African champions for the first time.

They outclassed National champions St.Mary’s Kitende 73-62 in an entertaining final at Arusha Institute of Accountancy in Tanzania on Saturday.

The magician expressed her delight upon being named as the MVP and hailed her teammates for the success



“I am delighted that i was named the most Valuable Player in the Basketball girls category at the FEASSSA games.” I wouldn’t have achieved this without the help of my teammates and coaches.”

Team work, discipline were key to our success and we always took our coach’s instructions.”

St. Noa are also the Wakiso District Basketball champions. The newly crowned East African champions won all their four group games to storm the quarterfinal stage.

They beat Kenya’s Kaya Tiwi 53-43 in semifinals of the competition before facing Kitende in an epic final.

The team received a warm welcome at the school premises on Monday.

Elsewhere, Buddo SS won the Boys’ Basketball title

St.Mary’s Kitende won in football boys’ category whereas Kawempe overcame Mukono High 1-0 to win the Girls’ football courtesy of a Shakira Nyinagahirwa extra time goal.

St. Mary’s Kitende were also winners of the Netball championship while Standard High Zzana won the Boys’ Volleyball.

Mbogo High school claimed the Badminton Championship. Following the success in various events, Uganda emerged as the overall winners of the 18th edition of the event.
