Following the 4-3 victory over Swaziland, Crested Cranes head coach Farida Bulega expressed her delight at how the Crested Cranes managed to put the Eswantini to the sword.
Bulega however highlighted how much the team missed the six members who failed to fly with the team due to issues with their Visas including CECAFA star Lillian Mutuuzo and first choice forward Juliet Nalukenge.
While addressing the post match conference Bulega said,
“We thank fellow Ugandans for the support and prayers, we have managed to get three points though we did not have a good performance but we are grateful for the results.”
“This is because six of the players are yet to join us and this affected my plans for the game since all these are starters. I believe we shall improve on our performance against Namibia.”
The tactician believes the three points will help in lifting her team advance past the group stages and have a chance of playing against the giants on the continent during the knockout phase.
“The three points will help lift the team and advance past the group phase. This will help us have a chance of playing against teams that compete in the AFCON final tournaments like Cameroon and South Africa.”
Playing against such top teams helps us learn and improve on our game.”
Uganda will return to action against Namibia on Saturday 15th before facing off with Zimbabwe in their last Group C match on Monday 17th.
