KCCA FC are playing against Paidha Black Angels in the highly anticipated finals of the Uganda Cup to be hosted at the Betway Green Light Stadium, home of premier league side Onduparaka FC. Kickoff time is 16:00hrs EAT.
Below are some of the facts about the Uganda Cup and these are profiled in numbers
The 43rd edition of Uganda Cup brings 8 time holders KCCA FC and Big league side Paidha Black Angels together.

Coffee United SC were the first ever winners of the Uganda in 1971 while Vipers SC are the defending champions yet to be dethroned by either KCCA fc or Paidha Black Angels later in the day.

12 – Only 12 teams have won the Uganda Cup since 1971. Express FC, SC Villa, KCCA FC, URA FC, Simba FC, Coffee United, Vipers, Victors FC, UEB(Umeme), Nsambya Old timers, Victoria University and Mbale Heroes (formerly Gangama United and Dairy Heroes) have ever tasted Uganda Cup triumph.

10- Express FC has won the Uganda Cup the most number times (10) with the tenth title coming in 2007. Only rivals Villa (9) and KCCA (8) come close. URA FC follows with 3 triumphs.

16 – KCCA has the most number of the appearances in the Uganda Cup final (16 times) with 2017 duel with Paidha Black Angels inclusive. Express FC has 14 while Villa comes 3rd with 12.

7 – KCCA (formerly KCC) has lost the most number of finals, 7 times; 1983,1985,1994,2005,2007,2014 and 2015. Express and Nile Breweries came second with 4 loses each.

4 – Four of the Uganda cup holders are defunct. Coffee United, Victors FC, UEB (Umeme) and 2013 winners SC Victoria University exist no more.

0 – No non top flight team has ever won the Uganda Cup since its inception.

9 – Nine of the previous 42 finals have been decided in spot kicks, with Express vs KCCA fixture dominating with 3 shoot outs of the 9. 1976 was the first final to be decided on penalties, Gangama United winning it while 2014 is the recent, URA edging KCCA 4-2 after 2-2 full time draw in Mbale.

2 – West Nile has produced two teams in Uganda Cup since 1971. Onduparaka (2016) and Paidha Black Angels (2017).

4 – The most appearing fixtures in the Uganda Cup final. KCCA vs Express, Express vs Villa and KCCA vs Villa have appeared most,all coming on 4 occasions.

2 – Only 2 teams have won the Uganda Cup and the league in the same season. SC Villa on 6 occasions in 1986, 1988, 1989, 1998,2000 and 2002, whereas Express managed the feat in 1995

2 – The Uganda Cup has had 2 walk over results in the final. Simba FC over Nytil FC in 1977 and KCC over UCB in 1979.
In 1982, Nile Breweries lost the final to KCC by forfeiture after walking off the pitch in the 75′ minute while trailing 1-0.

3 – Only 3 teams have won the Uganda Cup back to back that is KCC, Express and Villa. Express has accomplished the feat on 2 occasions unlike KCC and Villa.
Express is also the last team to do so winning the the Cup in 2006 and 2007 against Maji and KCC respectively.
