Express FC will be seeking to win their sixth consecutive league game when they take on Busoga United at the FUFA Technical Center in Njeru on Tuesday afternoon.
The Red Eagles have won their last five games with the latest being a slim 1-0 over UPDF thanks to Eric Kambale first half penalty.
Wasswa Bbosa’s men are one of the three title contenders with six games to the league climax. They sit third on the table with 52 points, two behind leaders URA and one behind second placed Vipers.
On contrast, Busoga United are 13th and are battling for safety having garnered 26 points, six above the relegation zone.
The Abbey Bogere Kikomeko coached side lost their last league 3-0 to relegation bound MYDA in Tororo with striker Ibrahim Nsimbe scoring all the three goals.
The past nine meetings between Express and Busoga United have seen the Red Eagles win three games while Busoga have managed four victories in the process. The other two games have ended in draws.
Express will be aiming for their first ever league double over the Jinja outfit having won the first leg 1-0 at Wankulukuku courtesy of Frank Kalanda.
Ismail Mugulusi returns after missing the club’s 3-0 defeat to MYDA. Ivan Wani was suspended, he returns while Paul Ssekulima will miss the encounter due to injury.
Muzamir Mutyaba returns after recovering from fever. Striker George Ssenkaaba is still out.
Express’ Kambale will be in limelight following his fine form in the previous four games that has seen him elevate his name to the golden boot talk.
Kambale has so far managed to score 12 goals, seven of which have been in the left four games. He is currently three goals behind the leading scorer Yunus Sentamu.
