Express FC beat Kitara FC 4-0 at Wankulukuku courtesy of goals from Eric Kambale, Arthur Kiggundu and second half substitute Frank Kalanda.

Kambale scored a brace and took his tally to 15 goals, one shy of leading scorer Yunus Sentamu of Vipers.

Kitara had a golden opportunity to take an early lead in the 6th but striker Peter Lomolo surprisingly failed to put the ball in an empty net with Mathias Muwanga already beaten. He effortlessly put the ball above the net.

Kambale punished Kitara a minute later when he headed home from a Martin Kizza header to spring Wasswa Bbosa’s men into the lead.

Left back Kiggundu made it 2-0 when he overlapped, had a one-two with Kambale before putting the ball past Ivan Akera the Kitara goalkeeper in the 28th minute.

Kambale brilliantly made it 3-0 with his second of the day. He was on the receiving end of Godfrey Lwesibawa’s ball, expertly beat his marker before slotting the ball beyond Akera’s reach in the 64th minute.

Kalanda who was brought on for Kizza, put the game beyond reach when he tapped home from close range after Akera had initially saved Ivan Mayanja’s goal bound shot in the 77th minute.

The win took Express to 58 points, two more than Vipers who defeated Soltilo Bright Stars 1-0 in Kavumba.
