Express on vengeance plot against UPDF FC

Express FC welcome Brian Ssenyondo’s UPDF FC at Wankulukuku in one of the seven UPL games to be played on Monday.

The Red Eagles will be vying for vengeance against the Army side having lost the reverse fixture 1-0 at Bombo.

Veteran midfielder Musa Mudde scored the lone goal from the penalty mark to win the contest for the army men.

Express are in 6th place with 45 points while UPDF are a place below them with 36 points from the 28 games played.

Express won 2-1 against BUL FC in their most recent game thanks to Raymond Walugembe and Martin Kizza.

UPDF also won 2-1 against Mbarara City thanks to Rogers Mugisha and Aggrey Kirya at Kakyeka.

Team News

Express will be without goalkeeper Joel Mutakubwa who is unavailable due to Typhoid and Ulcers.

UPDF will negotiate the tie without Andrew Kawooya, Jacob Okao and Robert Omunuk who are out injured.

James Odoch, the current Express manager says his charges are aiming at finishing the season on a high,

“Our main focus as we come into Saturday’s game is to end of the season in the top four. We want to build on our last performance at home to keep the momentum, UPDF FC is a tricky side and we have to be keen. We’ve worked on captalizing on our chances created because we surely need the goals to win the game”.

The previous five encounter between the two sides have ended in three victories for UPDF and two for Express.
