Express FC will be boasted by the return of first choice goalkeeper Mathias Muwanga who resumed training with the club at Wankulukuku ahead of the UPL second round.
Muwanga has been sidelined by a back injury for the entire first round of the season.
” I thank God I am back in training. Thanks also you guys who prayed for me since first round until now. It’s time for business now. Time to deliver as we enter 2020. Happy new year my friends. May this year be on your side and achieve more. “
The 2015-16 UPL Best Goalkeeper joined Express at the start of last season from URA and guided the Red Eagles to the semi finals of the 2019 Stanbic Uganda Cup.
Express have had issues to address in the goalkeeping department in the first round with both available goalkeepers facing injuries in the course of the 15 games played.
Tonny Kyamera has been deputized by Joshua Adea whose injury saw the elevation of youngster Sadat Mugenyi from the club’s junior ranks.
Express, who are under coach George Ssimwogerere, are 11th on the UPL table with 18 points accumulated after 15 games.
They will begin their second round journey with away duels against Busoga United in Jinja on Wednesday 8th January and Police FC on Tuesday 14th.
