Murushid Juuko is the 16th official signing of Express FC who have had an overhaul ahead of the new Uganda Premier League season.
Juuko, who was a free agent, put pen to paper on a one year contract with the Red Eagles.
“Firstly I want to appreciate the CEO (Isaac Mwesigwa) and the head coach (Wasswa Bbosa) for making this happen, am happy to be here, Express is a big club and it’s current progress speaks for itself and am sure we going to win silverware this season”
Juuko said via the club’s official website.
Juuko, 26, brings experience to the Express squad having been a mainstay at the national team level since his debut in 2014.
He has played for Bunamwaya (Vipers), Entebbe Young, SC Victoria University, Simba SC in Tanzania and had a brief stint at Wydad Casablanca in Morocco.
Express coach Wasswa Bossa believes Juuko’s addition is a huge boost to his squad.
“We’re glad to have Murushid on the team, his experience speaks for itself without a doubt, his discipline will help the youngsters in the team to become better.”
Juuko is expected to form a central defensive partnership with the newly named club captain Enock Walusimbi.
Express will be vying for their seventh league title with their last glory dating back in 2012.
