In November 2016, Express FC appointed coach Matia Lule on a three year deal replacing Wasswa Bosa who had been sacked by the club, ending his five year tenure at Wankulukuku. Matia Lule has however, been linked with a move away from the club,
But he has been quick to dismiss all the rumours linking him to the exit door at Express Fc and he insists that he is still committed to the club,
“I have a running contract with Express Fc and i have no plans of leaving the club as of now, i have been linked with various clubs. It’s true I and my coaching staff have salary arrears salary close to four months but this does not mean I am on my way out.”
“I am currently with the national side and when national duty is done, I will immediately return to Express Fc to conduct training sessions as we prepare for the new season. I know all the rumours are out due to lack of payments but all is false.”
Since his appointment at the Wankulukuku based side, his coaching has always been associated with lack of payments.
This has increased speculation concerning his stay at the club, but he insists that, he is still the head coach at Express.
