Express FC edged Tooro United 2-1 in a league contest at Kavumba Recreation Center on Wednesday evening.

Frank Ssenyondo and Frank Kalanda first half goals were enough to inspire Express FC to back to back league wins under the stewardship of Wasswa Bbosa who was facing his former paymasters.

Mike Kawooya found a late consolation for the visitors.

Ssenyondo gave the hosts an early lead with a calm finish in the second minute of the game.

In the 37th minute, Kalanda doubled the Red Eagles’ advantage to send the home fans into ecstasy.

Moments later, Ssenyondo was denied by Tooro custodian Crispus Kusiima.

The visitors dominated the second half and in the 84th minute, Kawooya gave them a lifeline with a brilliant strike at the edge of the box.

The win moves Bbosa’s charges five points above the drop zone and are currently 10th with 28 points. They will next second placed KCCA FC on Saturday.

Tooro remain 15th placed on the Uganda Premier League log with 19 points garnered in 22 games and will next entertain Police FC on Saturday.
