Express attempt to tame Tooro United at their Buhinga fortress


Tooro United will open their second round campaign when they entertain Express FC tomorrow 29th January at Buhinga Stadium, Tooro.

Wasswa Bbosa’s men have not lost a match at their Buhinga hills home and Express FC have a huge task to tame them, they are fresh from eliminating KCCA FC from the Uganda Cup at the same venue

The hosts finished the first round of the season in 10th place with 20 points whereas the Wankululuku outfit are currently 7th placed on the 16 team log with 21 points.

Both sides come into this encounter after advancing to the round of 16 in the Uganda Cup. Tooro United eliminated KCCA FC 3-1 on penalties after a 1-1 draw while Express FC edge out Water FC 2-1 to advance.

Tooro United defeated Bright Stars 2-0 in their final first round league game while Express FC played to a goalless draw with Ndejje University FC at Wankululuku Stadium.

Express won the first round fixture when the two sides met last year at Betway Muteesa II Stadium 2-0 thanks to Ibrahim Kayiwa and Eric Kambale goals.

The contest pits Tooro United’s head coach Wasswa Bbosa and a host of former Express players face their former paymasters. The players include Godfrey Lwesibawa, Isa Lumu, Steven Luswata and Simon Sserunkuma.

The Wankululuku outfit has won 5 of the 11 previous meetings drawing 3 while Tooro United ( Previously Soana) has won on 3 occasions.

Kefa Kisala is expected to hand new signings Brian Umony, Sadiq Ssekyembe and Ivan Ocholit their debuts.

Allan Kayiwa is expected to be productive on the hosts side whereas the visitors will look up Tony Odur, Eric Kambale and new signing Brian Umony for inspiration.

A win can move Tooro United to 6th place while victory will see Express propel to 5th place.
