Express appoint George Ssemwogerere as Kisala’s replacement


Six time league champions Express FC have announced the appointment of former club captain George Ssemwogerere as head coach until the end of the season.

Ssemwogere will be assisted by James Magala and another legend Hassan Mubiru who returns after serving under Mathias Lule, Douglas Bamweyana and Shafiq Bisaso.

A statement signed by club chairman Kiryowa Kiwanuka indicates that Kefa Kisala’s contract has been terminated under mutual consent.

“The head coach Kefa Kisala and his entire technical team have departed the club today after a mutual agreement with the Express FC board”.

“On behalf of Express FC, I thank Kisala and the outgoing technical team for the work done and wish them the best in their future endeavors”

“In consequence of the above, the board has now appointed George Ssemwogerere as head coach, James Magala as assistant and Hassan Mubiru as trainer”

Ssemwogerere has previously served in the same capacity at Kagera Sugar FC in Tanzania (Now Mtibwa Sugar), Kira Young, Express FC, Bugiri Old timers, the Somali national team and the Uganda national U23 team.
