Express aiming to close the gap on leaders as impressive Gaddafi visits

Wasswa Bbosa and his men will face new comers Gaddafi at home well knowing that they have no room for error if they are to remain relevant in the title race.

Despite their early slumber, Express have managed to steady their ship and have knitted a run of five consecutive matches without losing.

They however failed to pick the three points from their favourable hunting ground against URA when they fired blanks against them in Ndejje last weekend.

The defending champions find themselves 10 points behind leaders KCCA FC and they have a chance tomorrow to cut to 7.

Gaddafi on the other hand seem to have turned the corner following the appointment of experienced coach Peter Onen.

They have only lost once in their previous league matches and it was an inevitable 3-1 defeat to favourites Vipers SC.

In their most recent five league outings, they have won twice and drawn twice including a memorable fight back against record champions SC Villa.

Only three points separate these two teams despite a huge rift in positions on the log.

What the coaches say:

Peter Onen, Gaddafi

This is a huge game for us facing the defending champions but we have prepared well and ready for the battle. If we manage to beat them , it will be a huge opportunity for us to close in and a loss will be very unwelcome. May the better team win.

“We’ve prepared well for the game against Gaddafi on Friday, we respect them but we’re focused to earn maximum points. The players are well prepared and they know getting maximum points is out target, we want to close the gap between us and the table leaders and we can only do that by winning games”.

Team news

Winger Martin Kizza is a doubt but the club’s official website reports that he will be subjected to a late fitness test for inclusion in the match day squad.

The match comes too early for the injured duo of Abel Eturude and Arthur Kiggundu.

Gaddafi wont have experienced midfielder Yunus Sibira who is serving a one match ban for accumulation of yellow cards.

The rest of Gaddafi’s squad have been declared by Onem in his pre match remarks
