Angola 2-2 Egypt
Egypt came from two goals down to secure a hard fought 2-2 draw with Angola in a Group F encounter played in Luanda.
The Pharaohs came into the encounter leading the group with 10 points, three better than second placed Gabon and needed at least to qualify to the final qualification round.
Angola took the lead in the 26th through Valencia winger Helder Costa who was making his debut since switching allegiance from Portugal.
Nine minutes later, Spezia’s M’bala Nzola doubled the lead with a penalty kick following a foul on Ambrosini Salvador by right back Akram Tawfik.
Egypt pulled one back at the stroke of halftime through Mohamed Elneny following an exchange between Mohamed Sherif and Mohamed Salah.
Tawfik made amends with the equalizer in the 59th minute after receiving from Salah.
The Carlos Quieroz coached team joins Morocco, Senegal and Mali as the teams that have so far booked places in the final round.
Six more nations will join them in the final round where only five teams will earn a spot in the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
