Eddie Kenzo’s Big Talent clinch Watoto Wasoka Slums Derby

Eddie Kenzo’s Big Talent Soccer school clinched the 7th edition of the Watoto Wasoka Slums Derby that was held in Kazo.

The two days event climaxed on Sunday 19th May attracted 96 boys teams and 17 girls teams. The major aim of the tournament is to give the underprivileged children a platform to showcase their talents and help them attain scholarships both for primary and secondary education.

In the boys final, Big Talent edged Soccer Stars 3-2 on penalties after a barren stalemate.

In the girls open, Everton Uganda after a goalless draw also needed a 7-6 penalty shootout to overcome Uganda Martyrs Lubaga to clinch the fourth edition of the girls derby.

The tournament has been a birth place for many stars like Moses Waiswa, Ashiraf Mugume, Keziron Kizito, Steven Serwadda, Joshua Okiror and Mustafa Kizza.

Past winners, Sparta FC won the first edition in 2013, Supers Heroes won back to back in 2014 and 2015. Uganda Martyrs in 2016, KJT were crowned 2017 Champions and Mustada in 2018.
