Eastern Motor Rally returns on NRC calendar, Kyabazinga to grace event

The Eastern Motor Rally was officially launched on Tuesday morning at Nile Hotel in Jinja.

The event returns on the NRC Calendar since it was banned in 2018 following an accident that injured many fans in Iganga.

This year’s event is sponsored by International University of East Africa and will be held on the weekend of 6th to 8th March in Jinja.

During the launch, Busoga Kingdom PRO Andrew Ntange confirmed that Kyabazinga Wilberforce Gabula Nadiope IV will grace the event

“I am delighted to confirm that Kyabazinga will be part of this event. We thank the sponsors for injecting money in this Rally and we are looking forward to a great event.” He stated.

Maurice Otieno, the IUEA Sales and Marketing director said,

“We are happy to be part of this event and a University sports is one of our priorities.” We not only aim at academies but also encourage our students to be practical through sports activities.”

This year, there will be a total of five sections with the longest at Mutiko before the final event which will be held at Kakindu Stadium.

Marine time Cargo Company, Coca Cola and Shell are the other sponsors of the Rally.

Duncan Mubiru won the Mbarara Rally which was the first event on the NRC calendar earlier this year

Entries started last week and will end on Thursday 27th February.
