Drama as Proline hold on to eliminate MYDA

Ten man Proline FC scored through Brian Umony a goal that saw them progress to round of 16 in the Stanbic Uganda Cup despite losing 3-1 to Uganda Premier League side MYDA at King George IV Stadium in Tororo.

Ahmed Hussein Saleh and Amos Kirya had scored for MYDA in the 35th and 48th minutes respectively in their effort to overturn the first leg result which had ended 4-1 in favour of the defending champions.

Proline had to complete the last ten minutes of the game with one man less after Richard Ajuna was sent off for foul play on Kirya.

Drama ensued in the extra minutes added when center referee Kasibante awarded two penalties in a space of two minutes for the home side.

Paul Musamali failed to convert the first one as his kick was saved by goalkeeper Nicholas Ssebwato.

A minute later, MYDA were awarded another penalty but this time Isaac Osikol converted to make it 3-1 after a foul by Ssebwato.

At the end of the day Proline progressed to the round of 16 on 5-4 aggregate.

They join URA, BUL, Maroons, Vipers among the teams that have progressed to the round of 16.
