Title chasing Vipers SC hosts relegated threatened Masavu FC at St Mary’s Stadium a do or die fixture for the two Entebbe road sides.

Vipers SC are fresh from a morale rejuvenating win over fellow contenders SC Villa a win that handed their title quest an important lifeline.

Masavu FC also won their first win since the resumption of the league courtesy of an Abraham Ndugwa penalty.

They will however have to negotiate this hard fixture without their talisman Ndugwa who is out through suspension after accumulating the barred number of bookings.

Despite the handicap, head coach Julius Mutyaba insists that his team will be able to out in a fight regardless of their missing captain. He says,

“We shall physiologically miss him but physically we are set for battle, we have enough cover and quality to prove that we can handle any situation”

Other significant absentees for Masavu are defensive kingpin Benjamin Nyakojo who is a Vipers’ player on loan and goal keeper Salim Wekiya but hopes will be vested in Ddumba Sadala, Arthur Semazzi and James Kasibante.

Vipers head coach Miguel Da Costa will also start his 4 match ban after the Competition disciplinary committee convicted him of assaulting a referee during their stalemate with BUL FC.

Edward Golola will be in charge and he is confident the mood in his camp is positive as they search for a 3rd title, he told the official club website that,

“It’s an important week for us since we have 5 games in 10 days and we have to attach a lot of importance in the remaining games starting tomorrow with Masavu “.

Midfielder Taddeo Lwanga and James Alitho will miss the match through suspension whereas Dan Birikwalira will be available for selection.

The only previous meeting between the two sides was in the first round at Bugonga Fisheries grounds, which Vipers edged 2-0 courtesy of Steven Mukwala and Milton Karisa goals.

Vipers SC will definitely climb onto the summit of the log if they manage to sweep their neighbors aside.

Masavu FC can temporarily leave the bottom of the log and move to the 13th position replacing Express incase they maximise the points.
