Kenyan champions have completed the signing of Ugandan utility player Hashim Sempala from rivals Tusker FC.
Sempala who has been the Brewers’ captain put pen to paper on a two year contract two minutes to the transfer deadline on Monday night.
Sempala had been on the transfer radar of the K’Oghalo before the club officially confirmed the transfer via their social media platforms,
” Gor Mahia sign midfielder Hashim Sempala from Tusker. The Ugandan signed a two-year deal. “
He joins left back Shafik Batambuze and forward Erisa Sekisambu as other Ugandans who turn out for Gor Mahia.
On arrival, Sempala confessed that he always wanted to play for Gor Mahia and that he is so delighted the move finally happened.
” I am delighted to join the Kenyan champions and this is a big move for me in my career and I will strive to help the club achieve the targets they set for the season. I have always loved to play for Gor Mahia and I thank God that I finally have the chance to turn out for the great club.”
Sempala had joined Tusker from Jinja based BUL FC in 2016 before winning a double with the Brewers. He has also previously featured for URA and was part of the 2012 league winning Express FC team.
He started his football carrier at KCCA from Buddo Secondary School alongside Joseph Ochaya before joining Express FC.
