Uganda Cranes goalkeeper Robert Odongkara has completed a move to AC Horoya on a two year contract.
Odongkara joins the champions of Guinea from Ethiopian side Adama City where he spent one season.
The lanky shot stopper comes to fill the void left by Senegalese Khadhim N’Diaye who suffered a horrific double leg fracture in game against Wydad Casablanca last April.
Odongkara was part of the team that represented Uganda in the past two AFCON final tournaments in Gabon (2017) and Egypt (2019).
He has won 30 caps in the Uganda Cranes jersey including two in AFCON against Mali (2017) and Egypt (2019).
Ondongkara replaced Onyango against Egypt
He previously played for URA FC and SC Villa in the Ugandan top-flight league before joining Ethiopia’s St. George where he spent seven years.
AC Horoya are found in Guinea’s capital of Conakry and host their league games at the Stade 28 Septembre.
They are have the Guinean league a record 17 times and have played in the Quarter finals of the CAF Champions League for the past two seasons.
They are currently coached by Former Ethiopia Bunna coach Didier Gomes.
AC Horoya will play against Mali’s Stade Malien in the preliminary round of the 2019-20 CAF Champions League.
