Express FC will host their perennial nemesis SC Villa in a battle of only life and death.

SC Villa still have an outside chance in the title quest but they trail leaders Vipers SC by 6 points though with a game less.

Express’ can not afford any further slip ups having failed to win in 3 of their previous premier league matches.

SC Villa aren’t in fine form either , they have only managed to pick 7 points out of a possible 15, a rhythm that has seen them fall off the title run in.

SC Villa edged Express 1-0 at Masaka recreation grounds

Villa have been in the news for the wrong reasons following their disappointing loss to UPDF FC last Saturday, whose aftermath saw head coach Wasswa Bbosa attack his assistant accusing him of intrigue and betrayal.

Bbosa will be serving his final suspension match whereas his assistant Paul Mukatabala suspended by the club so goal keeping coach Mubarak Kiberu is expected to sit in the dugout as confirmed by Bbosa

“There are a lot of options who can fill in for me, Phillip Ssozi, Ram Nyakana and the goal keeping coach Mubarak Kiberu are all capable of performing the task but I believe Kiberu is the more experienced of them all and he will be in charge “

On the significance of the game, Bbosa said

“It will be a very tight affair for both teams, Express need to survive as we look to continue pushing for the title, much as I am a former Express coach, Villa is my team now and I look forward to winning the match”.

Head to head

The last 15 meetings between the two rivals have seen SC Villa dominate with 7 wins, 3 draws and Express FC winning on 5 occasions.

Ayubu Kisalita has been in fine form for Express in their struggle for redemption but he is a doubt for tomorrow

The opposite fixture of this encounter in the first round was edged by SC Villa 1-0 courtesy of a late Alex Kitata strike.

Team news

Express have serious injury worries as the in form Ayub Kisalita and Michael Birungi are subject to a late fitness assessment.

Midfielder Zimula Jalilu will be suspended for accumulation of yellow cards, the rest of the squad are available for selection.

SC Villa will be without Alex Kitata, George Senkaba, and Ambrose Kirya who are on the treatment table.

Captain Bernard Muwanga sustained a serious knock in training and he is also subject to a medical assessment.
