Nyamityobora football club captured the signature of one of the most sought after young goalkeepers Denis Otim from Western regional league side Mbarara FC.
Otim doubles as the second choice goalkeeper on the Uganda national U-20 team, The Hippos and featured in the encounter against Cameroon in Yaounde last April.
The budding shot stopper has previously been a student at Mbarara High School and consequently lured the attention of Nyamityobora and Mbarara City FC on account of his goalkeeping abilities.
It’s revealed that Otim has in the near past been training with the Ankole Lions before joining Nyamityobora FC on what is believed to be a 6-month loan spell from Mbarara FC.
The deficiency in Nyamityobora’s goalkeeping department called for his signature after Franco Oringa was indefinitely suspended by the club while Saddam Ogwang went A.W.O.L leaving Hillary Jomi as the alright person in that position.
After tying Otim down as the club’s first signing in the mid-season transfer window, Nyamityobora who are languishing in the red zone (14th) are expected to make more signings in a bid to save their premier league status.
The Western Uganda outfit will face BUL FC in their final game of the first round on Thursday 10th January at the Njeru Technical Center in Jinja.
