The Uganda Cricket Association has cancelled all 2020 Season activities due to the continued ban on all sporting events in the country caused by the outbreak of the deadly global COVID-19.
50 Over Men’s National League, 50 Overs Women’s National League, Schools’ Cricket week (both Boys and Girls) are the activities that have been cancelled by the association.
The development was confirmed in a press release from the Uganda Cricket Association CEO Martin Ondeko on Monday.
“It was a very difficult decision to make but the best under the current circumstances”.
We have run our permutation and will not be able to complete the scheduled leagues having in mind the time left in the year.” Stated Ondeko.
Following the cancellation, there will be no relegation or promotion for the calendar year 2020. The team placement will remain as the conclusion of the 2019 Cricket season.
