On Tuesday 14th April, President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni extended Uganda’s lockdown to 21 days as the major preventive measure of the deadly COVID-19 pandemic.
Following the extension, the Uganda Netball Federation (UNF) has postponed the U-21 Africa Netball World Cup qualifying event that was scheduled for 4th to 12th May at Lugogo Indoor.
Wilberforce Mutete the spokesperson of the Federation states,

“We have decided to postpone the event after the President of Uganda extended the lockdown due to the deadly COVID-19 pandemic.” We hope to immediately stage the championship when things normalise.”
The competition will act as the qualifier for the Africa Netball Championship due in July 23rd-30th in Botswana, Gabrone.
The deadly global pandemic has halted several sporting events in the country.
