Uganda U17 Women’s National team edged Kampala Select 2-1 in a practice match played on Wednesday morning at FUFA Technical Center, Njeru.
Kawempe Muslim duo of Juliet Nalukenge and Shakira Nyinagahirwa were on target for the national side while second half substitute Ronah Nantege netted a consolation for Kampala Select.
Nyinagahirwa fired Ayub Khalifah’s side into the lead before skipper Nalukenge scored the second goal.
Khalifa introduced on Maureen Nangozi and Catherine Nabukeera for Zaitun Namaganda and Kevin Nakachwa respectively.
The team is currently preparing for the 2019 COSAFA U17 Women’s event in Mauritius and will have another practice game before being trimmed to the required number of 20 players.
Uganda is in group A of the competition alongside, hosts Mauritius, Comoros and Zambia. The competition is slated to kick off on 20th-29th September.
