Uganda Cranes will play against the loser between South Africa and Botswana in a Plate semi final.
This follows a 3-2 loss to Lesotho Likuena on penalties in the quarter final played at the Princess Magogo stadium on Saturday.
A COSAFA Plate semi final will act as a classification criteria for all the four losing quarterfinalists.
The full-time between Uganda and Lesotho had ended in a goalless before both sides went for spot kicks to decide who procedes to the semi finals.
In normal time, the Abdallah Mubiru coached side pressed for a breaker but in vain.
Dan Muzeyi Serunkuma was brought for Dan Isiagi only to hit the woodwork in the 65th minute.
Lesotho’s goalkeeper Samuel Ketsekile was at his best to deny the Cranes any slightest chance to find the back of the net.
Paul Mucurezi and Allan Kayiwa were also introduced to replace Mike Birungi and Shafik Kagimu respectively.
The spot kicks saw Mustafa Kizza, John Revita and Mucurezi fail to convert whereas Juma Balinya and Muzamir Mutyaba scored theirs.
Uganda now awaits either South Africa or Botswana who face off on Sunday June 2nd.
The Plate semi final will be played on 4th June at the Moses Mabhida stadium.
