Juma Balinya is positive on transferring club form onto the national team in the upcoming COSAFA tournament in Durban, South Africa.
The Police FC marksman says he is aware of what is expected of him having scooped the Uganda Premier League golden boot with 19 goals.
" I feel that pressure, I can't deny it but I welcome it. People are expecting me to replicate my scoring exploits from the club level to the national team."
" They expect me to score goals because I did so in the league and I am going to work hard to see that I fulfill it. I am the still the same player so I can still score goals."
Balinya is unfazed by being dropped from the AFCON bound Cranes to the Cranes that will take part in the COSAFA tournament.
" It's not a disappointment to me because I am going to represent my country. The only difference is that some players are going to a different tournament but we are all going to play for the Cranes. That's what matters most."
The Cranes under the tutelage of Abdallah Mubiru and Charles Livingstone Mbabazi will start their COSAFA expedition on the quarter final stage against Lesotho Likuena on June 1st.
The COSAFA tournament officially kicks off on Saturday May 25th with the Group stage games.
