COPA COCA-COLA : Hosts Jinja College suffer second defeat as Buddo and St.Julian win

Hamza Mulambuzi’s brace and Joseph Bukenya’s goal saw COPA COCA-COLA Defending champions Buddo SS defeat Alliance High School 3-0.

Coached by Simon Peter Mugerwa who the assistant coach at SC Villa, Buddo SS also beat Busoga College Mwiri in their opening match 2-1.

Mugerwa is assisted by Hamza Lutalo who also works with the U17 ( The Cubs as the second assistant head coach.

St Julian registered their second win also after dafeating Kamwenge Secondary and Voacational School 3-0 courtesy of Ronald Sembuya’s brace and Eddie Mukwaya’s goals.

Ssegawa who also doubles as the head coach for Buganda regional side Lugazi Municipal congratulated his boys upon the hard work as he first targets making it at the round of 16,

” Right now I will not say that we are eyeing the championship but our primary target is winning every game that comes our way and making it at the round of 16 and for that case I congratulate my boys for the fighting spirit in the 2 games so far played.”

” Last year we lost on quarter finals but this time round I believe we are better and more prepared to make it beyond.”

ST Julian Gayaza won their opening game 3-0 against Amusi College.

Hosts Jinja College (JICO) suffered their second defeat after losing to Sentah College 2-1 with Juma Sabiti and Minallah Hussein scoring for the Sentah while Davis Babalanda pulled one back for Jico.

Jinja College suffered thier first on the tournament opener, 2-0 to St John’s High School Mukono.

Alex Okello and Emma Oketch were on target in the first stanza of the game when Jinja Progressive was defeating Restore Standard 2-0.

This has been Jinja Progressive’s third win after defeating High Standard Kateera and St Kagwa Bushenyi each 1-0.

Kapchorwa Standard became the first school to concede double figures of goals in a tournament after falling to Kateera High School 13-0 in a humiliating defeat.
