City Oilers lose to hosts in their FIBA African Champions Cup opening game

City Oilers started with a humiliating 64-102 loss to Estoile Sportive Redés the hosts of the FIBA African Champions Cup played i in Rades, Tunisia.

Oilers started up strong scoring 21 points just 5 points less than Estoile Sportive Redés in the first quarter but fell short of points in the 2nd quarter.

In the second period both teams seemed to take cautions scoring the fewest points in the game, 10 by Oilers and 19 by the home side, Estoile Sportive Redés.

Oilers looked more vulnerable in the third quarter as they only managed to score 12 points 22 points less than Estoile who scored a total of 34 points in the 3rd quarter a lone.

Coming into the last quarter City Oilers were already trailing 43-79 and it looked game over with only 21 points scored 2 points less than Estoile Sportive Redés’ 23 sealing the game at 102-64 in favour of the Tunisians.

Mohamed Abbassi was Estoile Sportive Redés’ best performer with 18 points, 10 rebounds, 2 assits and 1 block while City Oilers’ Adarius Pegues scored 12 points with 8 rebounds.

Other City Oilers’ great performers in the game included Stanley Ocitti who scored 14 points and Enabu Jimmy who made 5 assits.
