In the men’s category for the FIBA Zone V Basketball, defending champions City Oilers looked too strong against Hawasa City,
Mandy Juruni’s men seemed too fresh from the 93-46 victory over Savio a day before.

Oilers who added Adarius Pegues and Stanley Ocitti alongside the players used in regular NBL season in Stephen Omony, James Okello, Daniel Juko and the rest of the team, showed no mercy to Hawasa City who led 2-1 in 2 and half a minute.

Oilers led 24-10 at the end of the 1st quarter and were 49-18 up at half time. In the 3rd quarter ,the Oilers were just enjoying their game with no pressure as Hawasa looked clueless watching Oilers making it 86-28 at the end of the 3rd quarter.

The 4th quarter was no different as Oilers scored more 25 points as the visitors bowed scoring 13 making the final score 111-41.

Uganda was not yet done as Power named Fahamy Sebatindira, Michael Makiadi, Afidra Isaac, Ikong Joseph and Paul Odong as the first 5 to start ahead of Ethiopia’s Gondar City.

Power who had picked a sweet convincing win in the opener against A.B.C in an 87-55 win, immediately made their presence felt by the Ethiopians. Power led 22-12 in the first quarter, 46-16 at half time and introduced on Guddi Paul a.k.a Kikiri who seem to be Power fans’ favorite player. Power led the third quarter as well with a huge 74-20 lead which all looked like game done hence playing the last quarter for fun.

Power defeated Gondar on 113-31 with Willy Nijimbere scoring 21 points, 18 of which coming from behind the 3 pointer’s arc.
