Cheptegei named Fortebet Real Superstar of the year
The biggest award of this year went to Long distance runner Joshua Cheptegei who won gold in 5000m and Silver (10000m) at the 2020 Olympic games that were held in Tokyo, Japan in August.

The organizers of the Fortebet Real Stars awards have named the best of the month of December in five Sports disciplines.
At the event held at Spice Junction in Kololo on Tuesday, the organisers also announced the Fortebet Real Super Star of the year 2021.
Sarah Chelangat (Athletics), George Aporu (Volleyball), Simon Ssesaazi (Cricket), Hadijah Nandago ( Football) were the outstanding performers in December.
Renown and Veteran broadcaster Micheal Arereng was rewarded with the lifetime Achiever award for his extraordinary efforts towards the development of sports industry in the country.

The global icon won three Fortebet Real Stars monthly awards this year in February, August and September. To land the overall accolade, he beat golfer Irene Nakalembe, Cricketer Riazat Shah Ali, Motorsport crew of Yasin Nasser and Al Katumba.
Motorsport crew of Yasin Nasser and Al Katumba were also rewarded with the Fortebet Real Star of the year award for finishing as runners up to Cheptegei who won the Fortebet Real Superstar of the year gong.

The end of the year ceremony was graced by Commissioner Physical Education of ministry of Education and Sports, Rev. Canon Duncans Mugumya. The event was held at Spice Junction in Kamwokya.
