CHAN 2020: McKinstry accounts for Karisa’s inclusion

Milton Karisa is among the 34 players summoned in Uganda Cranes provisional squad for the forthcoming CHAN tournament to be held in Cameroon.

Karisa recently re-joined Vipers SC in the mid-season transfer window from Morocco and has only played three games since his return.

Cranes coach Jonathan McKinstry explained why Karisa has been named in the 34-man squad.

” I spoke to Karisa when he was still in North Africa and I have previously worked with him when we were preparing for a friendly game against Ethiopia. I believe in his abilities.” McKinstry said.

” Unfortunately, he had a tough time in Morocco but that had nothing to do with his personal abilities. We were trying to help him find a club in Europe but unfortunately we ran short of time as the transfer window was ending. I advised him to find a club in the UPL and you saw him scoring yesterday.” He adds

Karisa scored one goal and assisted twice before coming off in Vipers 5-0 win over Maroons at St. Mary’s Kitende.

He was part of the squad that represented Uganda in the 2018 CHAN tournament held in Morocco.
