Cranes head coach Sebastien Desabre has named a 25 man squad to travel to Morocco. Proline striker Daniel Isiagi and SC Villa’s Godfrey Lwesibawa have failed to make the grade.

The team will set off today at 3:00 pm. They are expected to have two friendly matches against Cameroon and Congo Brazaville from which the coach will assess the final 23.

There are only 6 survivors from the squad that represented Uganda at the previous edition in Rwanda, among others is current captain Bernard Muwanga, Joseph Nsubuga, Ismael Watenga, Muzamir Mutyaba, Timothy Awanyi and Isaac Muleme.

After Wednesday’s early morning training session,  the coach said,

“I am glad that I now know the players by name and face, I think it’s very nice that we are going to camp and work on team cohesion and the way we are going to prepare for the tournament”

“I have worked alongside my staff because they knew the players very well, I was also able to watch the CECAFA championships in December to assess the players who fit in my tactical philosophy and system.”
