CECAFA Women’s Championship kick off date changed as fixtures released

The 2022 Cecafa Women Championship will start on Wednesday 1st June instead of the earlier communicated date.

The tournament which will be held at Njeru, will run for 11 days and climax on 11th June.

It was initially meant to start on May 22nd before a new kick off date has been confirmed.

Burundi and Djibouti will raise the curtains on 1st June at 1pm before Uganda takes on Rwanda in the second Group A game of the day.

Group B will thereafter take center stage on Thursday 2nd June.

Group B has Tanzania, South Sudan, Zanzibar and Ethiopia.

The group stages will climax on Monday 6th June while the final will be played on Saturday 11th June.

Both Uganda and Burundi will use the tournament as part of their preparations for the upcoming Women’s AFCON tournament in Morocco.
