Uganda Kobs will face Tanzania in their final Group A game of the CECAFA U23 Challenge Cup in Bahir Dar.
The game will be played at 2:00pm before Djibouti and South Sudan square off in Group C at 4:00pm.
Uganda Kobs need nothing but a win if they are to qualify for the tournament’s semi finals.
If the Kobs win, they will automatically qualify to the semis as Group A leaders ahead of Tanzania.
Uganda is second on the table with one point while Tanzania leads with three points attained from the 1-0 win over DR Congo courtesy of Illusajo Mwakasangule’s goal.
Uganda drew 0-0 with DR Congo in the first game of the group. DR Congo are already eliminated and await for classification games.
Uganda’s coach Morley Byekwaso has already confirmed his charges will come all out in search of the desired result,
” The boys are so much focused to get results. We have done things that we think will help us because we have seen the Tanzanians play and how they beat the Congolese.” Byekwaso said.
” We need to come out all out to take the day. It’s going to be a very tough game but we are going to do everything possible to win.” He added
The group leaders from the three groups automatically qualify for the semi finals where they will be joined by one best second-placed team.
If Uganda loses to Tanzania, they will automatically be eliminated.
The first semi final has been confirmed and it will be Burundi and Kenya who finished as winners of Group B and Group C.
The hosts Ethiopia finished second in Group B and only await for today’s games to know their fate.
