CECAFA U-20 : Sudan whitewash Djibouti in opener

Sudan leads Group A of the CECAFA U-20 championship after thumping Djibouti 4-0 in the opening game played at Pece stadium in Gulu.

The Sudanese found the back of the net through Abbas Mohamed Namir, Ali Albager Eljamri, Yaser Ammar Aboalqaseem and Musab Kurdman Elsiddiq.

Namir scored the first goal of the game in the 27th minute and gave the young Sudanese a deserved halftime lead.

Ali Albager Eljamri made it 2-0 at the hour mark before Aboalqaseem scored the third.

Musa Kurdman Elsiddiq put the icing on the cake converting from the spot to complete the rout.

The other game played in Group A saw the hosts Uganda play to a 1-1 draw with Eritrea.

Sudan will play against Eritrea in their next game on Monday 23rd September while Uganda and Djibouti will face off in the late kick off on the same day.
