Tanzanian Football Federation (TFF) President Wallace Karia has been confirmed new boss of the Council of East and Central Africa Football Associations (CECAFA).
The development was confirmed on Wednesday 18th December during the Annual General Assembly at Silver Springs Hotel, Kampala.
Karia was confirmed by the CECAFA elective General Assembly and will replace Mutasim Gafaar whose term expired in November this year.
South Sudan’s Amin Francis is the first vice President, Jira Isayaa of Ethiopia is the second Vice President while Jean Sekamana (Rwanda) and Eritrea’s Esaya Abraham are board members.
For starters, the outgoing CECAFA President Mutasim took charge in November 2015 replacing Leodegar Tenga.
He beat former FUFA president Lawrence Mulindwa who was his closest contender in elections.
Long serving General Secretary Nicholas Musonye will also be stepping aside for the role
