The 2019 CECAFA senior challenge cup will come to an end Thursday as the hosts Uganda take on Eritrea in the final.
This will be the second time both sides face off in the tournament after being pitted in the same group (Group A) earlier on.
Uganda won 2-0 in the first meeting thanks to second half goals from Nicholas Kasozi and Mustafa Kizza.
The Cranes edged Tanzania 1-0 on the semi final stage while Eriteria shocked Kenya with a 4-1 victory to storm the final.
Muzamir Mutyaba is the only player who was part of the team that won Uganda’s most recent CECAFA trophy in Ethiopia in 2015.
Fahad Bayo who scored Uganda’s lone goal in the semi final, alongside recently crowned MVP Allan Okello are the players expected to fire Jonathan Mckinstry in the final against the Horn of Africa nation.
Victory for the Uganda win will give them a 15th CECAFA title and Mckinstry will be marking his first trophy as Cranes head coach.
