The Proline FC starlet then set up Bayo who beat Fabien Mutombora with a low finish to make it 2-0 in the 22nd minute of the game.

Burundi reduced the deficit thanks to Rusarenga penalty in the 60th minute following a handball by John Revita in the box.

Bayo together with Allan Okello were denied by the woodwork each.

Jonathan McKinstry brought on Nicholas Kasozi for Shafiq Kagimu and later introduced Muzamir Mutyaba and Joackim Ojera for Anukani and Viane Ssekajugo respectively.
