The 2017 hosts of the CECAFA senior challenge cup are at risk of failing to qualify for the semi finals should they fail to beat Tanzania in a group A clash.

The encounter will be staged at the Kenyatta Stadium in Machakos at 16:00 hrs EST.

Kenya are currently 2nd in group A having managed to collect 5 points following 2 draws and one win against Rwanda.

Belgium born coach Paul Put has played down the pressure on his team to perform and he believes they have all it takes to do the bare minimum and qualify for the semis. He says,

I believe we shall go all the way, we created enough chances in the previous game but we were unlucky not to have taken all the points. It is going to be tougher against Tanzania but we have to win. “

Tanzania are already eliminated having managed to pick only one point from their last 3 games.

The Harambe Stars are likely to face Uganda in the Semi finals should they manage to beat Tanzania.

The Harambee stars starting XI

Patrick Matasi (GK), Musa Mohammed (C), Jockins Atudo, Dennis Sikhayi, Wesley Onguso, Ernest Wendo, Patillah Omotto, Vincent Oburu, Chrispin Oduor, Ovella Ochieng, George Odhiambo
