Vipers SC continue their CAF Champions league adventure with a tough visit to Algerian champions Club Sportif Constantinois at Stade Mohamed Hamlaoui Stadium.

CS Constantine is 71 years older than Vipers SC having been founded on 26th June 1898 whereas the Kitende outfit begun in 1969.

Both sides are participating in the competition for the second time in history and will all be seeking to make it to the group stages for the first time.

The Algerian champions progressed to this round after edging out Gambian side Gamtel FC 1-0 on aggregate while Vipers SC cruised past Sudan giants El Merreikh on away goals rule.

Vipers SC come into this game after a 1-0 narrow victory over Police FC in their previous Uganda Premier league game at St. Mary’s Stadium, Kitende.

Javier Martinez’s side will be without the duo of skipper Tadeo Lwanga and Geoffrey Wasswa through suspensions. First choice custodian Fabien Mutombora continues to recover from injury and his void will again be filled with Bashir Sekagya.

The trio of Abraham Ndugwa, Moses Waiswa and Dan Sserunkuma will be tasked to guide the Ugandan representatives to dreamland.

Ismail Belkacemi and Ahmed Gagae are expected to inspire Abdelkader Amrani coached side to first leg advantage.

Vipers SC will seeking to get a better result in Algeria that will keep them in the tie for the second leg slated for 22nd December at St. Mary’s Stadium, Kitende. The aggregate winner in this fixture will automatically make it to the Group phase of the competition.
