CCL: Okwi’s Simba seek to maintain impressive start against AS Vita

Tanzanian reigning champions Simba will seek to maintain their perfect start in the CAF Champions league when they visit DR. Congo side AS Vita in the group D contest on Saturday 19th January in Kinshasa.

Simba come into this game after humbling Algerian side JS Soura 3-0 courtesy of a Meddie Kagere brace and Emmanuel Okwi strike at Benjamin Mpaka National Stadium.

The Congolese outfit on the other hand lost to record champions Al Ahly 2-0 thanks to Ali Maaloul and Nasser Maher goals.

Jean Florent Ikwange Ibenge Congolese side is currently bottom in the group whereas Patrick Aussems’ men top group D on a better goal difference.

AS Vita will be without suspended center back Dharles Mondia Kalonji while Ugandan defender Savio Kabugo is also set to miss through injury.

The visitors will miss the services of skipper John Rafael Bocco through injury sustained against JS Saoura.

Ugandan duo of Murushid Juuko, Emmanuel Arnold Okwi and Rwanda Ugandan born Meddie Kagere are expected to inspire the traveling side to dreamland.

In the same group, JS Soura ( Algeria) will host Egyptian giants Al Ahly today in Bechar.
