Matia Lule addresses the media ahead of the team’s departure

The cranes will set for
Marrakech – Morocco today 3rd, Jan, 2018 in the afternoon.

The team travels 10 days before the official kickoff of the continental Championship for players who ply their trade in local leagues.

Speaking to the media in his capacity as the assist coach after the morning training at the African Bible University in Lubowa, Mathias Lule expressed high optimism from the expected friendly games organised for the team prior to the tournament.

He said,

We expect to play two friendly games and they will help us to gauge the level of competitiveness in our players and give us an approach to the tournament”.

The cranes will play trial games against Cameron and Congo Brazaville ahead of the continental show piece.

The will set off with 25 players 2 of whom will be dropped before the final list of 23 men squad is handed to CAF as required by the competition rules.

Lule is also happy the players have responded positively to the new coach,

” We have prepared the players well and good enough their mindset has been changed for the better. They have responded well to the new coach’s tactics”.

CHAN 2018 is the 5th edition and is set to take place in Morocco between 12th Jan – 4th Feb 2018.
