Tanzania’s Young Africans were embarrassed at home after losing 1-0 Nigeria’s Rivers United in the first leg of the CAF champions league preliminary stage first leg at the Benjamin Mkapa stadium in Dar es Salaam.

Moses Omoduemuke’s second half strike was all the Nigerians needed to down Young Africans.

Rivers dominated the match all through as the Tanzanians were second best all evening.

Omoduemuke’s goal came just six minutes into the second period after he connected with a brilliant pass from Joseph Onoga.

The closest Yanga came to equalizing was in the 65th minute when Salum Feisal missed a sitter from a perfect cross that was delivered by Jesus Moloko.

Yanga have until next weekend to redeem themselves when they visit Nigeria for the return leg.
