COMPETITION: CAF Champions League

VENUE: Addis Ababa stadium.

DATE : 7th, March,2018.

KCCA FC will take on Ethiopian giants St. George FC in their last huddle to qualify for the group stages of the CAF Champions League.

KCCA FC ejected Madagascan Champions Caisse National De Prevoyance Sociale Sport (CNAPS) in the preliminary stage to book a place for this round while Saint FC automatically proceeded here when South Sudanese gaints Al Salam Wau was expelled from the tournament when they failed to honour the first fixture of their meeting.

The hosts will be without Ugandan born goalkeeper Robert Odongokara who is reportedly out injured while the rest of the team players are declared fit for the game.

The visitors on the other hand, will be boosted by the timely return of Julius Poloto and Muzamir Mutyaba who have been out injured for a while.

Things have not worked out as expected for the Ethiopian gaints in the recent past. They have not won a game in all their previous 5 league games including the most recent one which they lost to Awassa Kenema FC 4-1 while the 12 time Ugandan Champions on the other hand have won three games , drawn one and lost one in their previous 5 league matches.

The 29 time Champions of the Ethiopian Premier League appear to be a better experienced team in the tournament ahead of this game. Last year, while KCCA FC dropped out of the Champions League and went ahead to reach the group stages of the CAF confederations cup, the Ethiopians achieved exactly that in the Africa’s most prestigious club competition.

KCCA FC Probable line.

Charles Lukwago (GK), Habib Kavuma, Filbert Obenchan, Timothy Awany, Isaac Kirabira, Lawrence Bukenya, Julius Poloto, Muzamir Mutyaba, Allan Okello, Muhammad Shaban. Derrick Nsibambi.
