Uganda’s champions KCCA FC will face-off Ethiopian gaints Saint George FC in the return fixture of the CAF Champions League 2018 at the Star Times stadium in Lugogo.

KCCA are just 90 minutes away from becoming Uganda’s first club ever to play in the group stages of Africa’s most prestigious club competition.

Mike Mutebi the KCCA FC manager stressed that it will be an open game with the theory of attacking rather than to defend. He asserted ;

” We shall play our usual attacking football and i am sure we shall score. We can not sacrifice offence for defence because the only way we can score is by attacking. There is no short cut, to win and go to the group stages you must score and we shall score by attacking”.

The reverse fixture was played to a barren draw in a full to capacity Addis Ababa stadium the home of St. George FC in Ethiopia a few days ago.

Last year, while KCCA FC, fellow short of this tournament in the first round to find it’s way into the Confederations cup, St.George FC simply sailed into the group stages for the first time after 9 appearances.

Portuguese born Manuel Vaz Pinto head coach of the Ethiopian giants travelled to Kampala with a squad of 18 players who include Ugandan- born goalkeeper Robert Odongokara who has been sidelined due to injury for quite a while.

KCCA FC on the other hand, last lost at home in the Champions League 2-1 to Nkana red Devils of Zambia about 4 years. They have since won 1-0 against Cosmos De Bafia, 1-0 against club De Agusto before drawing 1-1 with Mamelodi Sundowns and winning 1-0 against CNAPS recently.

All the 18 player who travelled to Addis Ababa for the first leg match will be available for selection for the hosts while Saddam Juma, Paul Musamali and Jackson Nunda remain on the sidelines with injuries.

The overall winner of the two fixtures will proceed to the next round of the tournament where they will play the group stages.
