CAF C.C: Gor Mahia take slim first leg advantage over Supersport United

Jacques Tuyisenge’s second half goal sealed a win for the K’ogalo in the first leg encounter of the CAF confederations Cup playoffs against South African giants Supersport united in Machakos Nairobi.

The 78th minute goal came as a result of a spot-kick to give the Kenyans an early advantage against their visitors.

The Rwandan international who formerly played for Rwanda Police FC before joining the Kenyan side had earlier put up a very decent show in the game alongside teammates like Francis Kahata who was denied by on many occasions, John Odhiambo aka “Black Berry” and Humphrey Mieno.

GorMahia is home to Ugandan international left back Godfery Walusimbi who wasn’t part of the match day squad.

Walusimbi is reportedly locked in a standoff with the hierachy at Gor Mahia over until paid allowances and sign on fee arrears. He has sofar miss four consecutive games.

The Kenyans will play visitors to their South African counterparts in 10days time and will be required only to avoid defeat in order to reach the group stages of the second most prestigious club competitions.
