KCCA head coach Morley Byekwaso has made a very honest assessment of his Captain Charles Lukwago in accounting for KCCA’s unfortunate exit from the Uganda cup.

The 10 time winners were only 8 minutes away from reaching the semifinals when Charles Lukwago caught the ball and proceeded to punch Express attacker Charles Musiige before kicking the ball.

Lukwago was caught by the assistant referee and a penalty was awarded to Express which Martin Kiiza converted to give the visitors an advantage.

Byekwaso did not have soft words for his captain and entirely apportioned the blame on him.

” We gave away our game simply because of a bad decision by our captain. This is a very young team who fought hard and had achieved their target”

“He gifted them a penalty which consequently eliminated us from the tie having drawn 0-0 away” .

“It was so childish of him to catch the ball and then attack their striker to punch him”

The cup was KCCA’s last hope for silverware this season having fallen behind in the quest for the league. They are 16 points behind leaders Express with 4 games left to play.

Byekwaso who also doubles as the head coach of the national U23 team adds that KCCa will bounce back strong next season and then rebuilding starts now.

“This is not the end and we are going to build on this year’s performance. We shall make a few additions on the team to make them stronger ”

“These are young boys and we have to be patient with them ”

He added .

Express completed the Semi final line up to join BUL , Vipers and Police FC .
