Embattled Uganda Premier league club Busoga United will be taken over by Deputy speaker Anita Annet Among after an agreement with the Busoga United Limited board.

According to reliable sources Among a Ugandan accountant, lawyer and Politician will assume the club’s custody as soon as the necessary documentation is finalised.

The club has been under the ownership of Busoga United Limited since Hope Diana Nyago left her post of club chairmanship last season.

This website understands that Mrs Nyago left the club under the stewardship of Mr. Takooowa Hassan.

Since Nyago’s departure the club has been struggling financially and the arrival of a new owner is set to revive the club as they aim to keep topflight football status.

Wrangles between Nyago and the current club Chairperson Hassan Takoowa Mugerwa have lately hindered the club’s progress.

Takoowa recently released a dossier indicating how he owns the club. It is therefore awaited to see whether this is the final bend in the recovery of the club that has been part of the Uganda Premier league since 2016.

Among currently serves as the Deputy Speaker of the 11th Parliament of Uganda (2021-26). She is also Bukedea District Women Constituency Member of Parliament, the same position she held in the 10th Parliament (2016-2021).

Among is passionate about sports and has always supported the Uganda Cranes, Crested Cranes as well as the Uganda National Netball team (She Cranes).

Busoga United will host SC Villa on Wednesday, 22nd December. They are currently in the red zone with seven points after 11 games
