Busoga United seek to complete a double over Express

ELIAS KAYONDO

Busoga United host Express FC in the first game of the second round for both teams at the Mighty Arena, Jinja.

Going into the first round break, the Busoga based side tied with their Wankulukuku based counterparts on 18 points but the Abbey Kikomeko coached side took the goal difference advantage to sit-in the 10th position as opposed to the 11th position for the George Ssimwogerere coached side.

The reverse fixture hosted by Express saw them lose 2-1 courtesy of Joel Madondo and Boban Zirintusa goals while Frank Kalanda scored the hosts’ consolation from the spot.

Ivan Ocholit and defenders Cyrus Kibande and Martin Kizza will remain sidelined for this game but the good news for Express is the timely return of goalkeeper Mathias Muwanga and midfielder Hamdan Nsubuga from long injury spells.

The Abbey Kikomeko coached side will miss the services of key striker Joel Madondo who opted to join Moroccan side Wydad Casablanca in the January transfer window.

A win for either side will take them to 21 points and give them a clear lead over the other on the log.
